Muhanga: A collapsed mountain blocking the road

The Muhanga-Karongi road was closed to traffic due to heavy rains last night, according to the National Police. SSP Jean Marie Vianney Ndushabandi, Rwanda National Police Spokesperson for the Road Safety Department, told the media that the road maintenance work had started this morning, urging ordinary users of the road to cope with the disaster. "The staff of the Chinese Normal Road Company, in collaboration with the local people, would do everything possible to make the road more accessible," he said. Pedestrians are using a small lane while vehicles have to wait for its repairs, and the road has collapsed and no traffic can pass.
