Rwandan Female Soldiers in MINUSCA Celebrate International Women's Day with Women in Bria
Rwandan female soldiers serving in the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA) joined local women in Bria, Haute-Kotto Prefecture, to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8.
The celebration, held over the past weekend, was attended by members of the Rwandan peacekeeping contingent RWABG VII, who engaged with the community to mark the occasion. The event was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration and unity between the Rwandan Defense Forces (RDF) and the local population in Bria.
According to RDF leadership, the celebration reinforced the bond between Rwandan peacekeepers and the community, highlighting their shared commitment to peace, security, and the empowerment of women.
During the event, the female soldiers reaffirmed their dedication to supporting local women through training and capacity-building initiatives aimed at enhancing their economic and social empowerment.
“This celebration strengthened the relationship and trust between the RDF and the local community, paving the way for continued collaboration in the future,” the RDF leadership stated.
Both the Rwandan peacekeepers and the women of Bria pledged to continue working together to promote peace, security, and the protection of women's rights in the region.
